NO POLITICS YET.
SIR JOSEPH WARD’S ATTITUDE,
Sir Joseph Ward, who is leader of the Liberal Party, as well as Minister for Finance in the National Government, declined yesterday to make any remarks concerning the political situation. Mr Massey and himself, he said, had just returned from an Imperial, mission of a very important nature. He had not had time since his arrival in Auckland to examine the political situation, or to consult the members of his party. The Liberal leader indicated, as he had done in Auckland, that he did not feel at liberty to deal publicly with party matters while he remained a member of the National Government, He would be meeting the members of his party in due course. In the meantime he intended to have a few days’ holiday before he resumed active work in Wellington.
