UNKNOWN MAN DROWNED.

Auckland, Aug. G. An unknown man fell from the wharf at Devonport at 4 o’clock this morning. Ths nightwatchman heard a call for help, secured assistance, and the body was recovered, but life was extinct. Deceased was apparently between 35 and 40 years of age. In one of his pockets was a telegram evidently intended for the Drury office, asking that a letter should be sent to Auckland. It bore a signature resembling John Keating.
