PEACE CELEBRATIONS.

A meeting of the Peace Concert Committee was held last night, when a list of names of those willing to contribute to the programme was submitted. An effort had been made to secure outside talent, but without much success, as they were taking part in similar affairs, Mr Powell had consented to' supplement the programme with pictures, if required. Local vocalists had consented to contribute to the programm'e. A further meeting is to he held to-mor-row evening, at 7 o’clock, to arrange the final details, which will be published in Thursday’s “Herald.”

'.Arrangements for Saturday’s sports are well in hand. The .subcommittee to manage the horse and driving events met on Saturday and discussed details in connection with these events. The separate committees are asked to meet on the course at 4 p.m. on Wednesday to arrange for division of ground space and make final arrangements.
