CASES AND DEATHS
Statistics supplied to the Minister of Public Health (Hon. CL W. Russell) give the following record of influenza cases and deaths in Victoria and Now South Wales from 22nd February to Kith dune: — February 22nd to 28tli: Cases. Deaths. Victoria 1271. 82 New S. Wales . .. (it) 1 March Ist to .'list:
Victoria 3-124 213 New S. Wales ...1201 111 April Ist to 3.lst: Victoria (iucom.) Soi l (>O7 New S, Wales ... 4089 702 May Ist to 2-1 (h : Victoria .... (no returns) 5-11 New S. Wales ... 247!) 270 May 25th to Juno 24th: Victoria .... (no returns) 287 New S. Wales .. . 4033 204 The deaths in Victoria thus totalled 1.730, and those in New South Wales 1408. These figures, of course, do not include the deaths in cither Queensland, South Australia, West Australia, or Tasmania.
