THE COAL SHORTAGE.
.THROUGH TRAINS TO .CEASE,. Wellington, June 26. The Minister of Railways, referring to the curtailment: of services, said the reduction would be very heavy. He could give no indication as to where curtailment would ho made most heavy, but there would be no more through trains to Auckland in one day. The journey would perhaps occupy three doys. The Minister' thought it might still be possible to run trains from Christchurch to Dunedin in a day, although the service would he much slower. He could give no information as to the extent to which suburban services would be reduced.
