THE MANAWATU SEAT.

LABOUR CANDIDATE SELECTED. Mr A. C. Tlillier, of Shannon, has been elected unopposed as the Labour Party’s candidate for the ManaAvatu seat at the forthcoming election. Mr Hillier, who Avas nominated by the Shannon branch of the Labour Party and the FlaxAvorkers’ Union, has for many years taken a keen interest in all public affairs. During his residence in Shannon he organised the Labour Party, having hold the position of secretary and chairman, president of the Shannon Cash Trading Society, and is a member' of the Shannon Borough Council.
