WEDDING.

CARTER—MILLAR. On Wednesday afternoon, Juno 11th, the sun shone gloriously and streamed through the AvindoAVS of the Methodist Church, Shannon, on to a pretty scene, the occasion, being the marriage of Mr William Allan Carter, son of Mr and Mrs S. Cartel*, to Miss Jemima Eaton Millar, only daughter of Mr and Mrs R, Millar, both of Shannon. Miss Lilian Carter, sister of the bridegroom, Avas bridesmaid, and Mr W. Millar, M.M., acted as best man. The Rev. IV. Rowe, of Jolmsonville, assisted by the Rev. A. Harding, of Foxton, performed the ceremony. Airs H. H. Haylor, L.A.8., officiated at the organ. The bride looked charming in a frock of Avhate crepe de chcne, trimmed with pearls and silk ornaments. She wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms. The bridesmaid’s dress Avas of palest grey, beautifully hand-embroidered. With this she Avorc a black hat. Both bride and bridesmaid carried lovely bouquets, Avliich were made by Airs T. F. Gibson. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a handsome gold bracelet with Avatch inset, and to (he bridesmaid a dainty gold brooch set with pearls. The church decorations were pleasing to the eye, being of autumn tints, green foliage and Avbile ribbon; above the bride and bridegroom was suspended a beautiful floral bell, made of while everlasting flowers. The relatives of both families Avere entertained at afternoon tea at the residence of the bride’s parents. The usual toasts were honoured, and some happy speeches Avere made, the presents admired, and so a very joyous hour ended. Chaplain McKenzie, an old Sunday school teacher of the bride, was present, and all" Avere pleased to haA*e him among them once more. Amid shoAvers of confetti, Air and Airs W. A. Carter left per motor for a trip in the South. The bride travelled in a costume of fawn-coloured suiting, and black velvet hat with faAvn motor veil.
