OILS AND BY-PBODUCTS. POSSIBLE DEVELOPMENTS. While absent from Australia on war work connected with munitions and high explosives, Sir Douglas Maw son devoted a good deal of attention to the-question of the utilisation of brown coal. He said recently that he felt sure that wonderful results could be obtained by the distillation and carbonisation of such coals in Australia.
