MINE CAUGHT IN A TRAWL
When the crew of the steam trawler Marion, of Dundee, hauled in their net near Bell Rock, on the sasl coast of Scotland, a live mine fell on tiie deck, but fortunately failed to explode.
TWO CHANNEL ISLES TO LET,

CABINET AT I’R AYER, The Rev. Samuel Chadwick' tells (he story of how (ho Whir Cabinet resolved itself into a prayer meeting at one critical stage of the war. A message came through from Sir Douglas Haig, saying, “We have our hacks to the wall.” The War Cabinet received the news in silence. Then a member said: “Well, it has come to (his now; it is Heaven help us.” The Prime (Minister said: “Yes, that is just where we are. It is Heaven help us, so lei us ask. Heaven.” Probably for the first lime in British history a War Cabinet meeting was turned into a prayer meeting, concluded Mr Chadwick.
