BOWLING.

The local bowling green will be closed for the season after to-mor-row. The final match for the Nyc Ferns will be played to-morrow afternoon, the teams being; John Ross, McKnight, Raine, Huntley (s), holders, and Rsfngiheuea, Walker, Mandl, Christie (s), challengers. A start is to be made with the top-dressing of the croquet lawn to-morrow afternoon, and all members able to do so arc requested to roll up and give a band with the work. A special general meeting of members of the Club (both bowling and croquet) will be held in the Town Hall cloakroom (upstairs) on Thursday evening, at 7.30 o’clock, to discuss ways and means of carrying out proposed improvements to the greens, pavilion and surroundings. AH members, and especially the ladies, are earnestly requested to attend.
