MOTOR FATALITY.

AN OLD MAN’S DEATH,

Christchurch, May 2.

David Henderson Brown, aged sixty-three years, was knocked down by a motor car last night, and died in -the hospital early this morning. At the inquest the evidence of the driver of the car, .C. Barnett, and the occupants thereof, went to show that the deceased was encountered suddenly in the middle of the road, and. though everything possible was done to avoid him, one of the headlights struck him, and threw him on the bonnet of the car, from which he fell on to the road. The car Avas travelling at from twelve to fifteen hour at the time. The inquest was adjourned to enable a post-mortem examination to bo held.
