AT the unanimous request of the present Council, and in responselo the wishes of a large number of citizens, Mr .John Chryslall. (he present Mayor, has consented to offer his services for a further term. When Ah' Chryslall notified the public that he could not see his way to continue in office for a further term, owing to private reasons, (here was a feeling of general regret that'his services would he lost, and Dr. Mandl was approached to succeed him. Had (he hitler found it possible io consent, Mr Chrystal! would have earned a well-deserved rest. The Mayor, however, is prepared to make a sacrifice for the general welfare of the borough, and (here is no doubt (hat lie will lie re-, turned unopposed. During his term lie lias served the borough faithfully and well, and has won the esteem and confidence of I hose why have been associated with him. Mr Perreau was also approached to stand, but declined,
