PRISONER ESCAPES.
FROM MOUNT EDEN JAIL. Auckland, April 21. A prisoner named Charles Edward Bolton escaped from Mount Eden jail this afternoon. The escapee was working in a quarry outside the jail walls, and eluded the vigilance of the warder. Bolton, was serving a period of imprisonment for theft and vagrancy, and was to have been dealt with tomorrow on a warrant for maintenance.
