THE BRUSSELS AGREEMENT

Under the Brussels agreement Germany is alloAved to export certain commodities, but under Article 111. the export of coal, timber, dye stuffs, iron and steel products, sugar, glass, electrical and certain other machinery' arc provisionally' prohibited. It is noAv agreed that the Allies shall'have a pre-emptive right to purchase two-thirds each of these commodities. The remaining third can be exported to other countries, the proceeds of sale to bo applied to the payment for food. This arrangement Avill he abrogated after the preliminary , peace is signed.
