WORKERS’ EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of,, those interested in the formation of a class under the Workers’ Educational Association was held last night. The Mayor (Mr J. Chrystall) presided over a fairly good'attendance. The secretary (Mr Furrie) reported that sufficient names had already been handed in to form a, class, and that the sum of £43 had been promised in donations. It was necessary to raise £SO before a class - could he formed, hut there would he no difficulty in collecting the balance required (£7). It was unanimously decided that a class he formed, and that the subject be Economics. The following committee of management was set up; Messrs Dr. Mandl, Chrystall, Row! a It, Alexander and Furrie. It was decided to make application for the use of the Council Chamber for class meetings. The question of the night on which the class should 'he held was discussed, and it was eventually decided to leave the matter over until it was ascertained what iTight would suit the tutor.
