RAILWAY UNREST.
AT A MOMENT’S NOTICE. WELLINGTON .MEN READY TO STRIKE. Wellington, Last Night. Mr J. Meachen, chairman of the Wellington branch of the Locomotive Engineers, Firemen and Gleaners’ Association, replying to enquiries, said that the Wellington men had their minds quite made up that they would strike if the Minister refused to grant what they were asking for. “The Wellington men are ready to go out at a moment's notice. In order, however, to minimise the inconvenience to the general public, (bey will, before they go out, give some notice of (heir intention. I believe there is a rumour current that the Wellington men have already made up their minds to cease work on Thursday, hut that rumour is not correct.”
