At (lie Feilding fJ.M. Court on Thursday, Mrliewilt, 5.. M., gave his reserved Judgment in (lie claim of W. (1. Kemp of £75 against James Lang fur the destruction of his four sheep dogs. Mr Lang, a farmer, sued .Mr Kemp, a drover, for £4B damages fur sheep destroyed by Kemp's dx>gs } and obtained a verdict for £3B ss. In giving his verdict, his Worship said Lang was not justified in shooting the dogs (four hours after they were caught in the paddock with tha sheep), as thereby he deprived Kemp of his dogs. As to the question of the damage for (he loss of the dogs, it was generally apparent that, by the act of: worrying, thcj dogs had lost their status as sheep dogs.
