ALLEGED ASSAULT AT COAL CREEK. Dunedin, March 10. The Superintendent of Police has been advised that John McCartney, temperance organiser, is alleged to have been assaulted at Coal Creek, near Roxhurg, and stabbed on Saturday night. His injuries are not serious. It was slated that McCartney was set on by two men about threequarters of a mile from the township, and slabbed in four places, but not seriously. LECTURES! LECTURES!
