BOROUGH FINANCES.

The Borough Treasurer reported at last night’s Council meeting as follows: —

The sum of £321 (is 3d was received during the mouth of February and placed to credit as under: Dis-' tried- fund account £319 Is 3d, cemetery account £2 5s Od. The balances of the various funds at the Bank of New Zealand as at the 28th February, 1919, were as follows: — District fund account, debit, £770 10s 2d, cemetery account, credit, £32 6s Sd, and the lodger balances at the same dale as follows: —Cemetery £32 (is Bel, library £9 18s Gd, reserves £O9 16s od, sanitation £llO 17s 3d, town hall £152 18s 3d, hospital and charitable and £lO 0s sd, Whirokiuo bridge loan interest £9 Is 2d, Shannon .bridge loan £ls 13s 7d, council chamber loan £ls 17s 4d, Whirokiuo bridge additions loan £ll 10s 9d, roads and streets loan No. 2 £4 7s lid. Beach, road loan £4l Us lid, all in credit, a total of £490 2s 9d. The accounts at debit wore: Imprest cash £lO, gasworks £2BB 17s lid, general £4Ol Is Od, roads and streets interest £23 17s lid, gas works interest £3lB 8s lid, town hall interest £l3B, total £1,240 0s 3d.
