ADULTERATED MILK.

Christchurch, March 4,

At the Magistrate’s Court, Richard Mugford, dairyman, was fined £lO, with costs, on two charges of selling adulterated milk. The defence was that the milk was sold by a servant. The Magistrate said the excuse was insufficient. Children had to be protected, and the offence was a particularly serious onej* as an analysis showed that 25 per cent, of butter-fat had been extracted.
