MOUTOA NOTES.

Air Fraser, representing the Education Board, paid a visit to Afoutoa latdy to report on the proposed sito for the school. A meeting of the Mouloa School Committee was held on February ■lth. Present: Messrs Piggott, Campbell, Firth and Shaw (chairman). It was proposed to ask Air Cronquest, of Foxton, to audit the school accounts. The proposed removal of: Ihe school by Ihe Department from its present position was discussed at some length, and it was finally decided to send a protest to the Education Board against the removal of the school from its present site. It was to hold the annual picnic on Friday, February 21st, on the usual lines. A meeting of the Moutoa Patriotic Society was held in the school on Tuesday evening last. The meeting was well represented, and it was decided to further augment the funds for our soldiers, and a social was arranged, and will he held on the 28th inst. Guests will be entertained with progressive euchre. A meeting of. ladies interested in the school picnic was held on Thursday last to make final arrangements) Ah' Gallant! was present. A good sum of money lias been collected by the children, including a handsome donation from Whitaunui, Ltd., and .some five trophies have been given by business people in Shannon for the various running events. Provided a tine day, the 1919 picnic should ho a success. For the guidance of visitors, the picnic will he held beneath the willows behind the school this year. 1
