SLANDER PROVED,
JL'UY AWARDS ONE JH'XDRED GUINEAS DAMAGES.
The action for alleged slander brought by Alexander Hugh Drier-' son, of. \\ cllinglon, lieutenant in tho Xeu Zealand Expeditionary Force, against Henry Thomas Joynt 1 hacker, of Christelmreh, medical practitioner, was concluded before Mr Justice Chapman and a Jury in the Supreme Court, Wellington, yesterday. Damages to the amount of £5,000 were claimed. The jury, after an hour's retirement, returned a verdict of 100 guineas for the plaintiff. Judgment) was entered accordingly.
