BOWLING.

Yesterday afternoon members of I lie local Chili paid a visit to 01 nLi, 21 players making the (rip. Tim teams travelled by motor cars, leaving Foxton at .12.90 o’clock, and started play at Otaki about halfpast two. The Otaki green' was in good order, and the players spent a most enjoyable time. Of (he live games played, Otaki won three, and Foxton two, ’and on the aggregate scores Otaki had the advantage by seven points. The visitors were very hospitality entertained. At the conclusion of the games the president of the Otaki Club (Air At. 11. Ayre) thanked Foxton for (he visit, and expressed appreciation at seeing so many visiting players from one chib on the green. Mr F. D. W'hibley, on behalf of the Foxton howlers, returned thanks for the very hospitable manner in which (hey had been treated, and expressed (lie hope that in future years home and home visits of four or live rinks would be arranged between Otaki and Foxton. Visits of this, kind did more to create greater interest in bowling than anything else. Challenge trophies games and club matches were alright in a way, but. in these games only the bettor players got a chance, and (hey were consequently of no assistance to the younger players. To be successful, (dubs must cater for new players, quid it was by visits similar to that paid that day that this could best be done. As far as Foxton was concerned, they hoped to pay similar visits to some of the other greens in, the district before the season closed. After an exchange of cheers for the two clubs, and for the ladies* for their kindness in entertaining tin; visiters, Hie Foxton players left for 'home, all expressing the opinion that it had been the most enjoyable outing they had taken part in. The following are the details of the play:—
