BOROUGH FINANCES.
The Borough Treasurer reported as follows at last night's Council meeting:— The sum of £338 17s 4d was received during the month of January and placed to credil as under:—District: fund account £325 9s 1 Oil, cemetery account £l3 7s (id. The balances of (he various funds at the Bank of New Zealand as at Hie 31st January, 1919, were as follows: — District fund account, debit, £BOI 18s 2d, cemetery account, credit, £4O 0s 4d, and the ledger balances at the same date as follows: Cemetery £4O (is 4cl, hospital and.charitable aid £l3 18s lid, library £9 19s 4d, reserves £74 4s od, sanitation £445 7s Id, town ball £129 13s 7d, Whirokino bridge £8 10s 4d, Shannon Bridge £l4 19s 9d, Council Chamber £l2 8s 2d, Whirokino bridge, No. 2, £ll 10s !)d, roads and s(reels, No. 2, £-1 7s lid, Beaeli road £4O 18s Id, all ia credit, a total of £SOO Is 3d. The accounts at debit were: Imprest cash £lO, general £435 -Is Id. gas works £389 2s 2d, roads and streets interest £25 IDs sd, gas works £329 10s 2d. (own hall £l3B, total £1,327 10s Id.
