FATAL ACCIDENT.
FLAX-CUTTER KILLED. RUN OVER BY TRUCK. A fatal accident occurred at Rangitane yesierday afternoon, the. victim being John Mullan, a fla.xcutler employed by the Tane Hemp Co.. Ltd. it is understood that Mullan was returning from the swamp to the mill on one of the flax trucks loaded with flax, and must have slipped off, and the truck passed over his body. No one witnessed the accident. An inquest is being held at Palmerston North to-day. The deceased was well-known in. Foxton, having been cutting on the Moutoa swamp for the past four or five years. He only removed to Rangitane a few weeks ago. lie was a single man about 50 years of age, and a native of the North of Ireland. 1 ....
