MR. McMURRAY’S CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.
(To the Editor.) , Sir. —It is with a feeling of pleasure that I read Mr McMurray’s acceptance of my offer to reveal my identity, and thereby secure for (he school an additional sum for the purchase of a British piano; and as it is usual for all sports to deposit the stakes, 1 hereby nominate the Secretary of the School Committee, Air H. J, Claris, (o hold (he money, one hundred pounds cash, as oifpred hy Mr AlcAlurray, and to he deposited not later than 3 o’clock on Friday afternoon, the 7th day of Rohr nary, 1019. I hope Mr AlcAfurray understands, for there is no drawing hack now. F undertake lo make myself known in Saturday’s issue next, when 1 will reply to Air MeMnrray’s letter; and, further, I will leave in the hands of Air Claris my last -three letters (copies of which, 1 presume, can be seen at the “Herald” office) as a guarantee of my bona-tides, as they carry "the usual endorsement of the writer. In regard to the selection of the piano, that (roubles me nought, and I give him the benefit of his doubts as to my nationality. I am nominating two of the Committee —the stake-holder and Air McAlurray’s supporter, Mr Perreau —to he the purchasers of n British piano, inside and out. So the onus is now on Air AtcAturray lo carry out his challenge —one hundred pounds cash. 1 am, etc., INTERNATIONAL.
