The challenge mat eh for the Ilornblow Badges, Levin v. Voxton, on the local lawn yesterday afternoon, was stopped by (he rain after just over n third of the game had been played. Levin was represented by Mesdamos Hall and Kirk, and Buxton by Mesdamos Whihley and Woods. The holders started off well, and when rain prevented further play had scored ten points to their opponents’ two. It was impossible to complete the game, and was therefore abandoned. In addition to Die two ladies taking part in the game, eight others from Levin made the trip, and what would have been a. most enjoyable day was spoilt by the inclement weather. The Levin ladies intend making another trip later on in the season in quest of the Badges. The local ladies desire to thank Mrs Mandl for her kindness in sending to the green a supply of ice cream, which was much appreciated. Yesterday Mesdames A hihloy and Woods put in a challenge for the Gold Stars, at present held by Mesdames Hall and Kirk, and the match will be played at Levin next Wednesday afternoon. Another match for the Stewart Shields is being played this afternoon, the holders, Mesdames Barr and Woods, being challenged by Mesdames Parkes and Evans.
