WE pnbli-di ei.-ewherc in Him issue, the re])oi'l of anolber phase id. the local School Committee's action in purchasing a 'piano of German manufacture for (he school, as the outcome of a letter written to the Board by the two committeemen who resigned as a protest against (lie ai/tion of Hm majority of Hie Committee. The Chairman of the Board ruled.that the two ex-com-mitteemen had no standing, hut the Board decided that the letter he referred to the Committee for an explanation. It is as-well that tho Board should he in possession of the facts, in order to clear up (he distorted statements which -have been in circulation. The Chairman of the Education Board (Mr E. Pirani) took up a correct judicial attitude in referring the correspondence back to the Committee for an explanation, although his action was contrary to the wishes of one or two who thought to have had the matter, so far as the Board was concerned, settled on an cx-parle basis.
