The Manchester Guardian publishes additional details of lint Avreek of 11.M.5. Hampshire. A warrant officer who was among the survivors stales (hat Die ship sank in less (Inin live minutes. Lord Kitchener. contrary (o the earlier reports, did not appeal' on deck - . Every! hing aboard had been lashed, down owing to the great storm, and i nly one hatchway was open, and it was blocked by those who tried to escape. An attempt Avas made to open others, but there was not. sufficient time. Tho informant, included in a parly of eighty, clung to a raft for five hours. Seventy-six men died or Avere sAvept off the raft, ami the survivors were blown ashore, numb and bleeding, in a steep rocky inlet. Two other rafts reached (he shore, and there was a total ol' twelve survivals. All Ihe officers were lost. The informant is satisfied that the Avarship was sunk by a mine.
