WANGANUI PRESBYTERY.
Tbe Wanganui Presbytery mot in Marlon on December 10th, Present; Revs. J. D. McKenzie, E. G. Evans, A. Dmill, T. Miller, 0. 11. Blair, A. 11. Wheeldon, J. Wilson, J. IT. Rredin and L. 11. Hunt (ministers), Messrs P. McG. Murray, Macfarland and Sutherland (elders); also Mr McKenzie, borne missionary of Gonville, and Mr P. Fraser Barton, theological student. The Rev. T. Miller, of Feilding, was elected Moderator of Presbytery. The Rev. A. IT. Wheeldon, of Shannon, was welcomed by the Moderator as a new member of the Presbytery. The Rev. J. H. Bredin reported on the induction of Mr Wheeldon to the Shannon parish on October 30th. The Presbytery then proceeded with the trials for. license of Mr Fraser Barton, 8.A., a student for (be ministry. The Theological Committee wrote certifying that he had duly completed bis course of studi-
cs. Revs. J. I) .McKenzie, •). 11. Bredin and A. Don!) reported On the trials prescribed for him. These were sustained, and the Presbytery proceeded to license Mr Barton as a probationer of the Church.
The minute books of sessions and deacons courts of the Presbytery were examined.
The bulk of the time was occupied with an appeal ease in connection with Gonville (Wanganui). The Presbytery passed a minute of condolence iu connection with the death of Mr J. E, Vernon, M.A., B.Sc., of St. Andrew’s, Palmerston North.
The Presbytery adjourned to meet in Marton on February -till, 1 Pit).
