OBITUARY.

MRS. TOLLISON—AGED 20,

The death occurred at Wanganui on Tuesday last of Laura Elizabeth, wife of Mr John Edwin Tollison, of Wanganui, and late of Foxton. The deceased was well-known in Foxton, being a daughter of Mrs Parker, who resided here until recently. Some few years ago Air and Airs Tollison removed to Wanganui. The late Airs Tollison, who was only 29 years of age, leaves a husband and young family to mourn their loss. AIR JOHN SMITH—AGED 71 YEARS. There passed away at the Manchester Boardinghouse at an early hour this morning a very old settler ill the person of Air John Smith, of Alarotivi, aged 71 years. The old gentleman contracted a. severe cold about a fortnight ago, and was removed to Foxton for treatment. Although everything possible was done for him, he did not rally, lie leaves four sons (Malcolm and Ernes!, Foxton, Gerald, school teacher, of Ramnai, and Roland, fanner,’Waikato), and two daughters (Atesdames Pigott, of Moutoa, and Gingell, of Marotiri) to mourn their loss. Deceased was born at the Unit, and passed through the trying periods of (he early days. lie .settled at Montoa shortly after his marriage, and has resided there ever since, practically Monfoa’s oldest settlor. His Avife predeceased him over riventy years ago. The funeral took place this afternoon.
