Disinfectant can be obtained at the Gas Works at 1/- per pint. The following suggestions wore made at the meeting of medical men, to which public notice is urgently directed: — 1. Everybody feeling unwell with influenza should at once go to bed and stay there until well. This is the only way to avoid complications. 2. The breath of those with influenza is the chief source of infection. Great care should be taken to avoid this, or to mitigate it by inhalation, reasonably, of disinfectants. 3. The sick-room should be kept thoroughly neat, airy, and hygienic. Fresh air should be allowed to circulate in the room all day, and, if circumstances allow, at night also. The whole house should be laid open to the fresh air and sun each morning. 4. Light bed covering only should be used, blankets preferably. All unnecessary articles should be removed from the sick-rooms. 5. Patients should be sponged all over with warm water regularly twice a day. fi. The diet should be milk, barley water, lemonade, soda-water, taken frequently; also soup, jellies, custards, junket, light milk puddings, and oranges. 7.
