THE BUDGET.
NO SURPRISES IN STORE,
Sir Joseph Ward’s Budget, to be presented to the House of Representatives to-night, does not promise to be a “surprise packet,” says the Post. There will be no appreciable change in taxation. It is expected that the unused authorities for the remainder of the loans voted last session will he nearly enough, but it may be deemed advisable to get authority for an additional amount (not large). The Budget will have rather the character of a review than a statement of policy.
