ORDER-IN-COUNCIL DEFIED.
An elderly man named William Finlay was arrested for drunkenness by the police last evening. Ho appeared before Air liornblow, J.P., this morning, and pleaded guilty. Constable AVnods asked that ho he ordered lo leave the town forthwith. In reply to the Bench, Finlay stated that lie had been served with liquor at Iho Family Hotel lie! ween 3 and 4 p.m. Some one had shouted for him. He did not know who served the liquor iu the bar. He did not know that an Order-iu-Council had ben made closing all liquor bars. He was a boarder at the bote!. The Bench asked the police lo investigate the case, and Finlay signed a declaration re procuring liquor. He was convicted and ordered to leave the town forthwith.
