"YEOMEN, not necessarily registered nurses, hut who have lind some nursing experience, are urgently requested to volunteer for service in the Auckland District, in any capacity that the Department of Public. Health may require. Government will pay all costs of travel, and remuneration at the rale of ten shillings per day during service. JN view of the serious epidemic now prevalent in the Dominion, every local authority is required to take urgent and immediate steps to secure the safest possible sanitary conditions in its district, and as a part thereof to maintain at some central place supplies of disinfectant for speedy issue to the public, also to make, it widely known that the public should not at present travel beyond their -own locality. Every Local Authority is advised to make ready to have a standard Influenza Remedy available for speedy issue to the public on demand.
