INFLUENZA.

The inlluenzu epidemic is still prevalent in different parts of the North Island. Several fresh case- are reported in Wellington, Drastic measures are being taken in Auckland to combat the disease. The death roll is over 70. At Gisborne there are 08 severe cases in hospital. The epidemic is only in a mild form at Wanganui. Nine schools on the Main Trunk line have been closed. The outbreak in Palmerston N. is very severe. College Street school has been closed owing to depleted staff.
