SCHOOL FAIR.
There was only a small attend-am-e of those interested in the recent Stale School Fair, at the Council Chamber last night, to receive, and adopt the balance-sheet in connection with same. Mr Hornhlow presided, and apologised for several who were nimble to ho present. The balance-sheet, prepared hy the secretary, Air Cronquest, and duly audited by Air F. D. Whihley, was read and adopted on the motion of Air Furrie. In speaking to the motion, Mr Furrie said the splendid financial result was a matter for congratulation to all concerned. It would take some time to spend such a large sum, but when it was expended it would result in the school being the best equipped in the district. On behalf of the staff and children, he sincerely thanked all who had assisted. Airs Alex. Boss seconded. The Chairman said that (he Committee would see (hat the fund was spent to the best advantage. lie took the oppornnily to thank every one who in any way had assisted in the effort. One or (wo articles left unsold in the jumble stall wore purchased hy Airs Healey at the sum set down in the balancesheet, and the meeting closed.
