CROQUET.

A meeting of the ladies committee was held on Wednesday afternoon. It was decided to officially open the lawn on "Wednesday, November 13th, at 2 p.m., and invitations to be present are to lie axtended to members of the Feilding, Levin, Hinemoa, and Manawatu Croquet Clubs. On opening day a 20-minutes tournament will be held on the bowling green, and a golf croquet competition on the croquet lawn, the prizes for which will be the Awahou mallets, presented to the Club last year by Mr W. Nye. The afternoon tea will be provided by the ladies. The following new members were elected: —Playing: Mesdames Follett and E, "Walker, Honorary; Mesdames Claris, Stevenson, Mandl, Barr, Sea bury and McColl. The croquet lawn will be open for practice next W ednesday afternoon.
