IMPERIAL SUPPLIES.
A St'MMAKY.of the operations of the Imperial Supplies Department, from 3rd March, Li)ls, to 301 h September, 1918, shows a total payment of .(.71,057,271 for New Zealand produce. The quantily of meal in store on 30th September, 1018, for which no space had been allotted in overseas steamers was 4,004,070 freight carcases, of which 2,921,400 were in the North Island and 1,742,007 in the South Island. The cheese in store awaiting shipment on 30th September amounted to 275,573 crates, the North Island share being 223,230 crates. The butter in store on 30th September amounted to 107,707 boxes, of which 104,039 boxes were in the North Island. The total payments made by the Department to the end of September, 1018, were as follow: —Frozen meat, £27,910,070; cheese, £9,024,533; butler, £2,810,457; scheelile, £122,817; wool, £24,849,900; slipe wool, £3,270,332; sheepskins, £1,121,000; hides, £704,577; other business, £1,230,747; total, £71,057,271.
