INFLUENZA.
A WORLD-WIDE EPIDEMIC. London, Oct. 29. The influenza epidemic is worldwide- — reports come from India, South Africa, Argentina, and Scandinavia. There have been 13,394 deaths in Bombay alone. The number of people who died in a week in Vienna was 1,753. The supply of coffins became exhausted, and some of the bodies had to he kept in ice for weeks, and then buried in paper sacks. Fifty-eight persons were picked up in the London streets on Saturday and Sunday. The East Ham Council lias closed the elementary schools and forbidden the children to - attend the moving picture theatres.
