“PEG O’ MY HEART”—TUESDAY NIGHT. “Peg o’ Aly Heart,” with which J. and N. Tab will open at the Town Hall on Tuesday night next, has charmed millions, because it is so simple, and direct in its appeal to the better side of everybody’s nature. ’Phis world record winner has its inception in the fertile brain of Laurelte Taylor, (hen a comparatively unknown actress, who had noted that Irish heroes wore popular upon the stage, and she wondered why someone had not written a play with a real Irish heroine. She became acquainted with J. Hartley Alanners, a young Irish actor who had attracted some attention to himself as a playwright, and who was in Australia some years ago. Aliss Taylor out lined her scheme to Alanners. They developed the original plot together. About the same time Peg been me an international figure, the original Peg became the wife of Die brilliant actor who made such a successful play out of her idea. In the summer of 1912 Peg was presented at the Burbank Theatre, Los Angeles, with Laurette Taylor in the role of Peg. The piece was a fair success there. With no lack of faith in its ultimate worth, Air Aloroseo organised a company to support Aliss Taylor in the comedy, and secured the new Court Theatre. The play and theatre opened at the same time, Friday night, December 20th, 1912, in New York City. Peg became the rage of the year, and ran for GO4 consecutive performances. Lauretta Taylor became the most popular comedienne of her day, and later on duplicated her great American success in London, where she has made an enormous personal hit. Alessrs J. and N. Tail slate that the production here wilt he on the same standard as in Sydney and Alclhonriie. Aliss Sarah Allgood, Die famous Irish actress, will appear as “Peg.” The box plan is open at Tcviot dale's.
