OX Thursday next the local public will be afforded an opportunity of assisting jhe local State school Committee to provide a fund for re-furuishing the local Stale school when erected. The Department provides the necessary equipment for the school such a> desks, maps, tables, etc., but there are many extras required to provide a cheerful environment which are not provided, such as musical instruments, piano, pictures, and a hundred and one little things which brighten and make attractive the school life of the little ones. Approximately about £2OO will he required to he raised for (his purpose locally, and with the Government subsidy this should provide a sufficient fund to thoroughly equip the school. AVe feel sure that the Committee's objective will he readied on Thursday, judging'' by the generous response I he public is already making. That Eoxtou will do its part goes -without saying in view of past generosity. When will the school he re-ereeted, is the next question. AVe are informed that the. Board archiled Ims practically completed the plans, which embody certain suggested alterations to the sketch plan. The plans will ho forwarded Jo the Department for linal approval, and when this is given the work will be pushed ahead immediately. The Board has been asked to treat the mailer as of extreme urgency, which they intend to do.
