TINKER, TAILOR, TEACHER, DRAPER—WHICH ?

When proposing a motion in favour of increasing teachers’ salaries, Mr Poster, of Wellington, drew a comparison between the hoy who enters the teaching profession and one who takes up the drapery business. In each case the total earnings are computed over the period from 13 years of age to 21. The figures given are as follows: — Teacher. Earnings. 4 years at secondary school..
