THEFT BY CLERK.
Blenheim, Oct. 17. C. A’Court Opie, clerk of the Pelorus Road Board, was charged with stealing £7l 6s 2d between Juno and October, of this year, the property of the Bond Board. The information was laid by G. H. Richardson, Government auditor. Accused had systematically shortbanked money, but had since refunded the amount taken. Accused pleaded guilty, and was committed to Blenheim for sentence, being admitted to bail of £21)0 himself and two securities of £SO each.
