CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor.)

Sir. —You stated in Tuesday’s 'fiaper that you were of opinion that the anonymous confession re the tiring of the school was a genuine one. I do not agree with you for the reason that no motive is disclosed. One always looks for a motive in crime. Who would benefit by the destruction of the school? The alleged confession appears to me to be a joke. Otherwise some motive would have been given or hinted at. If the confession were genuine it’s a pound to a gooseberry tliat a motive would have been hinted at. lam of opinion that the building was deliberately set on hre alright, and if the person was genuine in writing that letter he should be game enough to make a clean breast of it, face the consequences, and clear his conscience.—Yours, etc., PARENT.
