A prisoner hitely returned from Gernniny makes the following report on the eon dilion of eertain Belgian women work'ers on a farm near Ids working eamp in Germany:— “ There were rhonl HO Belgian women on the farm (dose by, and la on the farm 1 worked on. They were (old they would get good food and would have to work from (i a.in. to (i p.m., instead of whicdi they had to work from 4 a.in. to 9 p.m., and iiad to sleep on straw spread on the floor in a room just big enough to hold them.
“ihe farmer and his son used to strike these girls with sticks on the slightest provocation, and had them •in such terror that if he called them they would run to him in a body like dogs. Their conditions were terrible, and their treatment most inhuman. It was slavery of the worst kind.”
