Just as (he driver was drawing near with his human load, he was slopped by an olhcer coming from the hospital. The Salvationist saluted the officer, who said: “I am glad to meet you! Just as I was leaving the ward where i had been seeking information, a wounded man looked up and said: ‘Sir, can you read a few verses of Scripture !' I was glad 1 had my Testament in my pocket. I am a believer in religion. I road a few verses to the mam and then, to my surprise, he asked me to pray. I have never prayed audibly in my life; I have never been able to do that I I came away feeling so badly about the dear fellow. Coming down the steps I saw you, and I thought,- that perhaps you, would do what 1 had not the eourage to dor’ The Salvationist, thanking the officer for the opportunity, went to the man, and was able to pray with him before lie passed away.
