PROPOSED RECEPTION',

A public reception to Mr Massey and Sir Joseph AA'ard was proposed by (he Mayor of Auckland on the lines of (he proceedings followed on the occasion of the two .Ministers' return from England last year — namely, a luncheon and citizens’ demonstration in the Town Hull. The Mayor had arranged for cooperation in (he matter wilh the President of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce and oilier local authorities. On communication of his plan* to the Acting-Prime Minister (Sir James Allen), Mr Ounsoti received a telegram thanking him for the proposal, but requesting that, in order to fit in with other Ministerial arrangements, the reception should be deferred until another occasion.
