SUDDEN DEATH AT NEWTOWN.
EX-FOXTON RESIDENT,
Mr John Nimmo Thompson, of 2 Carrington Street, Wellington, manager for Pearce’s bool shop, at Newtown, died suddenly yesterday morning shortly after opening the premises for (he day. He left home about eight o'clock, as was his usual habit, and an hour or so later a passer-by saw him sitting in the shop apparently in a helpless condition. A neighbour who was called in sent for Dr. Jacobsen, who found on arrival (hat Mr Thompson was dead. Deceased, who leaves a widow, was -Id years of age. He appeared to be in his usual good health.
The late Mr Thompson was wellknown locally, having conducted a boot business here some years ago. Whilst in Foxlon be was a prominent member of the Oddfellows’ Lodge, and took a keen interest in its welfare. The news of his sudden death will he received with much regret by liis many friends. An inquest is being held to-day.
