COPPER TRAIL FUND.

EFFORT BY THE GIRLS’ GUILD

Some time ago (lie Secretary of the Copper Trail Fund at Wellington wrote, asking the local Girls’ Guild to make an effort to assist the funds. The Guild decided to accede to the request, and set aside last Saturday week, hut as this day had been decided upon for the Dalian Red Gross Day, (hey postponed the effort till last Saturday. A stall was set up in front of Messrs Walken 1 and Currie's store, and (lowers, cakes, etc., disposed of. Subscriptions were solicited, and a liberal response made. The effort realised £22 15s 3d. The compel it ion for the dinner was won by Mr Aitcheson, and the cake by Mr Reader.
